简介
The umwelt theory, defined by Jakob Von Uexkull, is an organism’s abstracted version of the world, a sensory self-world experienced and defined by each unique organism. In this case, I explore the potential of a luminere as an organism in an umwelt with the capacity to pull in the world. It’s perceived as a float ing bubble that has its own sets of conditions, but is also “capable of reaching out, wrapping around, drawing in, and bursting”. The luminere is mobile, perceptive, sensory, unique and constantly registering, responding and engaging.
